Fireworks Bust On Fourth Was No Dud
 |
| Nearly 60 packages of fireworks were seized from scofflaws by the 106th Precinct last Friday during a Fourth of July crackdown. As noted, assigned details of local officers patrolled streets in Howard Beach, Ozone Park, South Ozone Park and South Richmond Hill and issued summonses to individuals who were caught selling, possessing or lighting the illegal pyrotechnics. Law enforcement sources noted that several arrests were also made of individuals charged with various counts of fireworks possession. The commanding officer of the 106th Precinct, Capt. Joseph Courtesis (at right) is shown along with Lt. Frank DiPreta at the command's Ozone Park stationhouse with several bags of the confiscated fireworks. |
