The driver of this van that smashed into another vehicle and brought down a light fixture at the intersection of Borden and Maurice avenues last Wednesday afternoon, July 23, managed to come away with minor injuries, Fire Department sources reported. Members of Squad Company 288, Ladder Company 140, Battalion 45, Rescue 4, the 104th Precinct and EMS units responded to the accident, which occurred at around 5:10 p.m. Firefighters from the FDNY's Haz-Mat Unit 1 also responded after a number of gas storage tanks were located inside the van.
