     Vets' Trip Was Something Special World War II, Korean and Vietnam War veterans from John V. Daniels Jr. V.F.W. Post No. 2813, members of St. Sebastian's Catholic War Veterans and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary from Sunnyside and Woodside recently visited the war memorials in Washington, D.C., thanks to a trip sponsored by State Sen. Serphin Maltese.

     Heather and Michael Albanese of Middle Village announced the birth on Sept. 7 of their daughter, Cadance Cecilia. The new arrival weighed 7 lbs. 4.1 oz. and was 20 1/2" long. Proud grandparents are Margarete and Joe Reklis of Maspeth and Maria and Michael Albanese of Ridgewood.

Building Ways To Help Others
     Building Ways To Help Others Students at Maspeth's I.S. 73 who are members of the Builders Club worked with seniors from the Selfhelp Senior Center of Maspeth to craft some dolls as part of a weekly project by the Intergenerational Sewing Club. As noted, the dolls shown above were donated to St. Mary's Hospital, for use by pediatric surgeons as a way of showing their young patients where a scar will be made. The I.S. 73 Builders Club is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Maspeth.
