OLH Continues Play
      Our Lady of Hope's seventh grade girls' soccer team, the Hope Hornets, continued their winning streak last weekend. On Saturday, Oct. 18 they played a tough match against Sacred Heart of Bayside at Juniper Valley Park. Hope's combined efforts of offensive strikes and defensive pushes led the team to be victorious once again.

Royals Hope Third Time's A Charm
      The Christ the King boys' varsity soccer squad faced St. John's Prep for their third and final match of the season. The first two meetings finished in a draw, but in this game the Royals outplayed the St. John's squad in every aspect of the game. Senior Lukasz Prawdzik scored the first three goals for the Royals in the first half.

St. Margaret's Starts CYO Hoops Season
      The St. Margaret's Rookie CYO team began its season with a 19-9 victory over Blessed Trinity at home on Saturday, Oct. 15. The first quarter displayed opening game jitters by both teams, resulting in a 2-2 score at the quarter break, with St. Margaret's committing six personal fouls. Gottschee Tackles Intra-League Action
      League action dominated the slate last week as Gottschee teams turned in full days' work. U8s The U8B and U8D faced off against each other in an intra-club match which ended in a 3-3 draw. Rohan Iger provided all the firepower for the D team with a hat-trick while Thomas Kieblecz (2) and Jason Demoloitz scored for the B team.

Edwards Has Great Weekend In Memphis
      Carl Edwards won Saturday's Nationwide Series race at Memphis, then he took Sunday's Cup race at Atlanta. But despite his weekend success, he is still 183 points behind Jimmie Johnson in this year's Sprint Cup Chase for the Championship, as Johnson rallied to finish second Sunday, behind Edwards.
