The public's help is sought by police in tracking down the perpetrator who sexually assaulted women in Corona and Astoria in a pair of separate attacks earlier this month.

Law enforcement sources have released a composite sketch of the suspect, who is described as an African-American male between 25 and 30 years of age, standing 6' tall and weighing 170 pounds.

Reportedly, he was observed wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt in at least one of the incidents.

According to police, the assailant attacked a woman at around 9:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1 inside a building located in the vicinity of 50th Avenue and 96th Street in Corona.

Nearly four weeks later, law enforcement sources noted, the perpetrator sexually assaulted a woman at a building in the vicinity of 31st Avenue and 29th Street in Astoria at around 11:45 p.m. last Monday, Oct. 20.

In each of the incidents, authorities said, the male followed his female victims into the building. Once inside the location, it was noted, the suspect choked each victim until they lost consciousness.

Based on information obtained by police during the investigation, law enforcement sources said, it was determined that the perpetrator sexually assaulted each woman and fled from the scene.

The Corona incident was reported to officers from the 110th Precinct, while the Astoria attack was reported to the 114th Precinct.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the NYPD Special Victims Squad, it was noted.
