Royals Hope Third Time's A Charm

The Christ the King boys' varsity soccer squad faced St. John's Prep for their third and final match of the season.

The first two meetings finished in a draw, but in this game the Royals outplayed the St. John's squad in every aspect of the game. Senior Lukasz Prawdzik scored the first three goals for the Royals in the first half. The goals were assisted by Steven Subasic, John Favara and Peyton Atteloney.

In the second half, sophomore Chris Munoz scored two goals for the Royals. It is worth mentioning the fifth and last goal by the Royals, when Munoz took the ball in his half and dribbled his way to score the goal. Junior Anthony Ciorciari registered his first shutout of the season. Ciorciari played a defender for the Royals but was forced to become a goalkeeper in the middle of the season.

In the last game of the 2008 season, the Royals beat St. Edmunds 5- 1 at All-American Field in Brooklyn. Goals were scored by Prawdzik (3), Atteloney and Carmine Colombo. The Royals finished the 2008 season with a record of 6 - 3 - 3.
