DEATH NOTICES

FRANK ANCESCHI of Ridgewood died on November 8, 2008 at the age of 81. A native of Italy, he was the dear brother of Rose Soda, beloved friend of Marian Suleiman. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Peter J. Geis Funeral Home, 57-34 Catalpa Avenue, Ridgewood.

+++ NEDELEA NICOLAU of Fort Pierce, Florida died on November 14, 2008 at the age of 96. A native of Romania, she was the devoted mother of Dr. Paula Rauchett. Services were held at the Peter J. Geis Funeral Home, 57-34 Catalpa Avenue, Ridgewood followed by cremation in Fresh Pond Crematory.

She was the beloved wife of Matthew, devoted mother of Deborah Mars and Karen Paoletti, mother-in-law of Anthony and Lou, dear grandmother of Anthony and Lisa, great-grandmother of Daniella and Alex; also survived by nieces and nephews. He was the beloved husband of Patricia and the late Louise, devoted father of Anne Marie DeStefano and Karen DiVito, dear brother of Anthony and the late Joseph, fond grandfather of Francine and Lexi, step-grandfather of Drew and Kevin. He was the founder of Royal Quilting and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. She was the widow of the late Patrick of County Mayo, Ireland, devoted mother and mother-in-law of Patrick and Kathy, Kevin, Patricia and Brian Mahon, Mary, Michael and the late John and William, dear sister of John, Sarah Collins, Patrick and the late Mary and Beatrice, fond grandmother of Kaitlin, Patrick and James; also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was a longtime officer and member of the Mayo Society. +++ WALTER MARTIN RUOFF of Columbus, New Jersey died on November 15, 2008 at the age of 87. A native of Moessingen, Germany, he was a longtime resident of Queens. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (nee McNamara), devoted father and father-in-law of Ronald and Susan Ruoff of Glendale, Dr. Kathryn L. Ruoff of White River Junction, Vermont and Margaret MacKenzie of Connecticut, dear grandfather of Rachel Ruoff and David Dittrich. He was a 67- year member of Local 3, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and trustee of the South Jersey Local 3 Retiree's Association. He was a World War II Army veteran and served in the European and China-Burma and India campaigns. Services were held at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, New Jersey followed by interment in Maple Grove Memorial Park, Kew Gardens.

+++ ANGELINA FORKIN died on November 15, 2008 at the age of 89. She was the widow of the late Joseph, devoted mother of Lori, Patrick and Michael; also survived by one granddaughter.
