Students Wear Scholarly Look The honorees were dressed for the occasion at the Students of the Month celebration held at Ridgewood's P.S. 68. They're Good With Numbers St. Matthias School in Ridgewood held an Intermediate Math Bee for students in grades 4, 5 and 6. CK Contestants Figured Correctly Displaying their math skills proved to be a rewarding experience for nine students at Christ the King Regional High School in Middle Village, where the Math Department holds a bi-weekly contest. For answering their questions correctly, they received a certificate of merit and one, Sara Turkovic, also received a $25 food voucher for the cafeteria. Little Ones Enjoy A Big Feast Thanksgiving came early for the youngsters at the Greater Ridgewood Youth Council's Little Stars universal pre-kindergarten program, as they celebrated the holiday on Tuesday, Nov. 25 with a turkey lunch. Making A Special Delivery For Thanksgiving Families in need in Bushwick were given essential items for their Thanksgiving table on Monday, Nov. 24 through donations made to the 83rd Precinct Community Council's annual food drive. Canned goods and non-perishable food items were collected over the last month by the council and the Hope Gardens Community Center, while turkeys were provided by a number of organizations including Health Plus, Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, the Kings County District Attorney's office and Assemblyman Vito Lopez. According to Council President Barbara Smith and HGCC Director Anita Haynes, about 75 baskets filled with the donated food were distributed by the 83rd Precinct Community Affairs Unit and Auxiliary Officers on Monday night.
