Subway Changes

The MTA has scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work.

These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, July 15. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs.

Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following:

Weekend Closure On L Line In Brooklyn

Shuttle buses will replace L train service between Lorimer Street and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues this weekend, from 11:30 p.m. Friday, July 17, until 5 a.m. Monday, July 20; and late nights on Thursday, July 16, and Friday, July 17, from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Riders can transfer between the L train and shuttle buses at Lorimer Street or Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues. Customers may take the A or M trains as alternate routes; the A is available at the 14th Street-Eighth Avenue or Broadway Junction stations; the M is available at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues.

The shuttle buses may be picked up at the following locations near L train stations:

• Lorimer Street—on Metropolitan Avenue at Union Avenue;

• Graham Avenue—on Metropolitan Avenue at Graham Avenue;

• Grand Street—on Bushwick Avenue at Grand Street;

• Montrose Avenue—on Bushwick Avenue at Montrose Avenue;

• Morgan Avenue—on Morgan Avenue at Harrison Place (to Myrtle- Wyckoff Avenues) or on Harrison Place at Morgan Avenue (to Lorimer Street);

• Jefferson Street—on Wyckoff Avenue at Starr Street;

• DeKalb Avenue—on Wyckoff Avenue at DeKalb Avenue; and,

• Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues—on Wyckoff Avenue at Myrtle Avenue.

Additionally, L train service will operate in two sections—between Eighth Avenue and Broadway Junction and between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway—on Thursday, July 16, and Friday, July 17, from 10:15 a.m. until 3:15 p.m. Riders can transfer between L trains at Broadway Junction to continue their trip.

As a result of this service change, all L trains between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway will run every 24 minutes; trains between Broadway Junction and Eighth Avenue will operate every eight minutes. A full timetable is available online at travel.mtanyct.info.

Local Service, Stops Skipped On 7 Line

All 7 train service will be suspended between Times Square and Queensboro Plaza on Monday morning, July 20, from 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m.

For service to Times Square and Grand Central-42nd Street stations, transfer to the N train at Queensboro Plaza. For service to the Fifth Avenue station, transfer to the F train at 74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue.

Shuttle buses will replace 7 train service between the Queensboro Plaza and Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue stations. The free buses can be picked up at locations near the following 7 train stations:

• Queensboro Plaza—on Queens Plaza South at 27th Street;

• 45th Road-Court House Square—on 23rd Street at Jackson Avenue;

• Hunters Point Avenue—on 21st Street at 49th Avenue; and,

• Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue— on Vernon Boulevard at 50th Avenue.

Flushing-bound 7 express trains will operate local service between Queensboro Plaza and Mets-Willets Point on Thursday, July 16, and Friday, July 17, from noon until 3 p.m. The following week, all 7 express trains will operate local service in the same section on Monday, July 13, and Tuesday, July 14, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.

Additionally, Manhattan-bound 7 trains will skip the 111th Street, 103rd Street, 90th Street, 82nd Street, 74th Street, 69th Street, 52nd Street, 46th Street, 40th Street and 33rd Street stations on Thursday, July 16, and Friday, July 17, from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

For service to these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard, Woodside-61st Street, 74th Street (Thursday and Friday only) or Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to a Flushing-bound 7 train. For service from these stations, take a Flushingbound 7 train to Woodside-61st Street, Junction Boulevard or Mets-Willets Point, then transfer to a Manhattanbound 7 train.

Track Work Trims E, F Train Service

Due to reduced capacity caused by track work, there will be fewer trains running on the E and F lines during morning and evening rush hour periods on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m. through Monday, Aug. 31.

Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time and to be prepared for more crowded trains.

Additionally, all Manhattan-bound E and F trains will operate local service between 71st-Continental Avenues and Roosevelt Avenue this weekend, from 11:30 p.m. Friday, July 17, until 5 a.m. Monday, July 20. Jamaicabound E and F trains will also operate local service in this section this weekend, from 12:30 a.m. Saturday, July 18, until 5 a.m. Monday, July 20.

Customers are urged to allow for additional travel time.

Weekend Express On E, R In West Queens

Jamaica-bound E trains and Forest Hills-bound R trains will operate express service between Queens Plaza and Roosevelt Avenue this weekend, from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, July 18, until 5 a.m. Monday, July 20.

For service to the 36th Street, Steinway Street, 46th Street, Northern Boulevard and 65th Street stations, take the E or R trains to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattanbound E or R train.

For service from these stations, take a Manhattan-bound E or R train to Queens Plaza, then transfer to a Jamaica bound E train or a Forest Hillsbound R train.

Additionally, all R trains will be extended in Queens and will operate local service on the F line between 71st-Continental Avenues and 179th Street this weekend, from 12:30 a.m. Saturday, July 18, until 5 a.m. Monday, July 20.

No G Train Service Between L.I.C., F.H.

G train service is suspended between 71st-Continental Avenues and Court Square this weekend, from 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 17, until 5 a.m. Monday, July 20; and late nights, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. through Friday, Sept. 4.

For service to Brooklyn, take the R train to Queens Plaza and transfer to the E, then take the E train to 23rd Street-Ely Avenue, where riders can transfer to the G train. For service to Queens, take the E train at Court Square to Queens Plaza, then transfer to the R train.

Additionally, all G trains are extended in Brooklyn to the Church Avenue F train station at all times through the end of 2009.

It was also noted that G trains will operate every 20 minutes between Court Square and Church Avenue during late nights, Monday through Friday, from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. through Friday, Sept. 4. Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.
