DEATH NOTICES JOSEPH HRYSZKO, 85, of Middle Village, passed away on June 20, 2010. He was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on March 17, 1925. Retired from the New York City Housing Authority. Proud veteran of the United States Navy and Army. He is survived by his two daughters, five sons, 14 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Funeral arrangements were held June 21, 2010 at Village Chapels. His final resting place will be at Arlington National Cemetery.+++ ZIVAN NIKOLIC of Brooklyn died on June 12, 2010 at the age of 74. A native of Zrenjanin, Serbia, he was the beloved husband of Bozana, devoted father of Alexander Nikolic and Daniel Nikolic, and dear brother of Sladana Nikolic; also survived by two grandchildren. A native of Brooklyn, she was the devoted mother of Melissa McKinney and dear sister of Harry Carrasquillo, Janet Velasquez, Andre Carrasquillo, Daniel Montez and Daniel Rodriguez. A native of Nikolinci, Serbia, she was the beloved wife of Traian Mateas, devoted mother of Sylvia Zaika and Tibi Mateas; also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A native of Westerleigh, Staten Island, he was the beloved husband of Lucille, devoted father of Steve, Meghan and Emily, loving son of Patrick and Evelyn, dear brother of Patrick, Scott and Karen Hajdaragic, and dearest friend of Gloria Golden. He was a member of the Laborers International Union for 20 years. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine Diehl, devoted father of Margaret Martin, April Pridgen, Jeanine and Christopher Paulson, Joseph Diehl Jr., Jacqueline and Jose Padin; also survived by six grandchildren, and a seventh expected in December. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and the Commandant of the Marine Corps League Det#240.
