BUSHWICK EATERY BROILED IN BLAZE


Flames gutted the interior of a Bushwick restaurant during a one-alarm fire that broke out early last Wednesday morning, July 21, it was reported. Fire Department sources said the blaze started at 4 a.m. at the eatery located in the vicinity of DeKalb and Knickerbocker avenues. On the scene were members of Engine companies 217, 218, 237, 271 and 277; Ladder companies 112, 124 and 140; Squad Co. 252; Rescue 2 and Battalions 28 and 37, under the direction of Division 11, along with the 83rd Precinct and EMS units. No injuries were reported. One hose line was used to bring the blaze under control, an FDNY spokesperson said.
