DEATH NOTICES

JAMES HOLDEN died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the age of 84. He was the beloved husband of Antoinette, loving father of Linda Ross, Patricia Zanbichelli and Carol Del- Gaudio, father-in-law of Russell, Robert and Frank, cherished grandfather of Lisa, Brian, Frank, Jesse, Melissa and Michelle and dear brother of Lawrence Holden. He was a United States Navy veteran who served during World War II. A mass of Christian burial was offered at Transfiguration Church on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, interment follwed at St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-77 Grand Avenue, Maspeth.

+++ JOSEPH JABBONSKI died on Friday, November 12, 2010 at the age of 61. He was the beloved son of Genevieve, loving brother of Carol Tobias, Donna Fabrizio and Christine Fraser, cherished uncle of Matthew, Emily and Nancy. A mass of Christian burial was offered at St. Stanislaus Church on Monday, November 15, interment followed at St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Avenue, Maspeth.

+++ CHRISTOPHER HORNEK died on Friday, November 12, 2010 at the age of 54. He was the beloved husband of Stella, loving son of the late Harold and Regina, dear brother of Geoffrey Hornek, Susan Richman, Gregory Hornek, and Brian Hornek. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Funeral services were held at Papavero Funeral Home on Monday, November 15, cremation followed at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Avenue, Maspeth.

+++ MICHELE COSTA died on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the age of 76. He was the beloved husband of Louise, loving brother of Mariangela, Rose, Antionette, Rocco, Benito and the late Giuseppe, cherished uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michele’s memory may be made to Sloan-Kettering Hospital, 1275 York Avenue, New York. A mass of Christian burial was offered at Our Lady of Hope Church on Saturday, November 13, interment followed at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Avenue, Maspeth.

He was the beloved husband of the late Ann, loving father of John Wroblewski, Ann Marie Cosme, Joseph Wroblewski, Thomas Wroblewski, Frank Wroblewski, Diane Santacroce and Carol Ann Repole, cherished grandfather of Erica, Stephen, Dean, Zachary, Briana, Angelica, Anna, Taylor, Gerard, and Gianna, dear brother of Bernard Wroblewski, Theresa Ott, Joan Messemer, Florence Matuzewski and the late Dorothy DeStefano and Dolores Sawka and devoted companion of Mary Waters. He as a United States Navy Veteran. Donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the Nonna’s Garden Foundation, 1720 Whitestone Expwy., Whitestone, 11357. A mass of Christian burial was offered at St. Adalbert’s Church on Friday, November 12, interment followed at St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Avenue, Maspeth.

Loving father of Joseph Cozeolino, Marianne Panico, Carol Cozeolino and Peter Cozeolino, cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Jennifer, Jillian, Stephen, Peter, Robert, Alicia and Charles, great-grandfather of Alexandria, Victoria, Sophia, Gabriella, Anthony and Natalia. He was a United States Navy Veteran who served during World War II. A mass of Christian burial was offered at St. Adalbert’s Church on Saturday, November 13, interment followed at St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Avenue, Maspeth.

+++ THOMAS ASSANTE died on Monday, November 8, 2010 at the age of 76. He was the beloved husband of Dolores, loving father of Joseph, Thomas and Antionette, cherished grandfather of Michael. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. +++ MARGARET I. ZERO died on Monday, November 8, 2010 at the age of 94. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony M., loving mother of Angela Z. Reddin, dear sister of Lucy N. Palladino, cherished aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many cousins and friends. A mass of Christian burial was offered at Ascension Church on Friday, November 12, interment followed at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Avenue, Maspeth.

+++ ROSE SCHMITT of Ridgewood died on November 10, 2010 at the age of 83. She was a native of Brooklyn. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward, devoted mother of Linda Allcea and Edward Schmitt and dear sister of Albert Ehresmann. She is also survived by five grandchildren. Services were offered at Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels by Reverend Michael Ross. Interment followed in Lutheran All Faiths Cemetery under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Avenue, Ridgewood.

+++ ROSALIE TARANTINO of Rutherford, N.J., died on November 8, 2010 at the age of 96. She was a native of New York. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas. A mass of Christian burial was offered at Mary Nativity R.C. Church, interment followed in St. John’s Cemetery, under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Avenue, Ridgewood.

+++ MILDRED ANTONELLI of Glendale died on Monday, November 15, 2010 at the age of 99. She was the devoted mother of Arlene Gerstheimer. She is survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A mass of Christian burial was offered at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, interment was in St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of George Werst Funeral Home, A Dignity Provider, 71-41 Cooper Avenue, Glendale.
