DWELLINGS DESTROYED BY CYPRESS HILLS BLAZE

Several families were left homeless after a threealarm fire ravaged three attached homes on a Cypress Hills block early last Wednesday morning, Nov. 17, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the inferno ignited at about 5:40 a.m. in the rear of the residences located near the intersection of Jamaica and Nichols avenues. More than 30 FDNY units responded to the scene along with the 75th Precinct, EMS units and the New York City Office of Emergency Management. The displaced families were provided with assistance by members of the American Red Cross of Greater New York. Despite the damage, Fire Department sources said, no injuries were reported. Six hose lines were used to bring the fire under control, an FDNY source said.
