DEATH NOTICES +++ KLARA ERKER passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, at the age of 79 in San Diego, Calif. She was born on October 28, 1931 in Gottschee, Austria to her parents, John and Maria Wittreich. She married Joseph in Ridgewood on February 16, 1957. They had two children. She was a resident of San Diego for 21 years and a resident of Middle Village for almost 40 years. She provided guidance and inspiration for her family and friends, enjoyed caring for people, gardening and dogs. Klara will be remembered by her loving husband, Joseph, and their children Robert and Ingrid, and son-in-law Peter Rubenacker. She is also survived by her grandchildren Eric and Kurt Rubenacker. Services were held in San Diego. A native of Germany, he was the beloved husband of Irmgard Kreuzer, devoted father of Roswitha and father-in-law of Henry Wolf, loving grandfather of Annemarie and Patrick Burke, cherished great-grandfather of Kaylee and dear brother of Paul. She was the beloved wife of Eleftherios, loving mother of Nicholas and Michael Martakis, mother-in-law of Donna and Mindy, cherished grandmother of Nicholas Jr., Jenna, Jason, Brittany and Shana and dear sister of Harry Amantos and the late Mary and Stasia. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was the husband of the late Theodora, loving father of Amelia Monis and Mary Flouras, father-in-law of Argyrios and Lambros, cherished grandfather of Maria, Theodora, Eleftherios, Constantinos, Despina and Ioannis and great-grandfather of Katie, Melina, Costa, Penelope, Yianni, Anastasia and Lambros.
