Cars Smashed At Bushwick Corner

Three people were injured in a two-car collision at a Bushwick intersection last Friday afternoon, Mar. 18, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the crash occurred at around 5:40 p.m. at the corner of Central Avenue and Stanhope Street. Members of Engine Co. 218, Ladder companies 112 and 124, Squad Co. 252, Rescue 2, Battalion 28, the 83rd Precinct and EMS units responded to the incident. Using the Hurst tool—also known as the “jaws of life”—first responders broke up the damaged vehicles to reach the trapped victims, who were brought by paramedics to Kings County Hospital Center and Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. All victims were expected to make a recovery.
