Fatally Struck When Two Cars Collide At Intersection

(photo: Joseph Epstein) An elderly woman was killed on Monday, Mar. 21 when two cars collided on a Jackson Heights street, and one was thrown into the victim.

According to police sources, the incident happened at about 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of 32nd Avenue and 70th Street.

At the crossing, one car, heading northbound on 70th Street, reportedly collided with a vehicle heading westbound on 32nd Avenue. One of the cars allgedly ended up hitting 82- year-old Margaret Ehoberka, who was reportedly on the sidewalk waiting to cross the street.

Ehoberka was pronounced dead at the scene. Reportedly, she lived with two sisters, 85 and 87, the elder of whom was ill.

FDNY Engine Company 307, the 115th Precinct and emergency services personnel were among those responding to the incident. An investigation into the accident by the 115th Precinct is ongoing, sources stated.
