Little Leaguers Start Season With Parade

The boys and girls of summer took to the streets of Glendale last Saturday, Apr. 2, as young baseball and softball players kicked off the Ridgewood Glendale Middle Village Maspeth (RGMVM) Little League season with their annual Opening Day Parade. As shown, the participating teams along with parents, coaches and other supporters marched down Myrtle Avenue from Cypress Hills Street to Seither Stadium on Woodhaven Boulevard. At the field, the teams held a formal ceremony to kick off their campaign, which was attended by local elected officials including Assemblyman Mike Miller, City Council Member Elizabeth Crowley and Rep. Anthony Weiner. Crowley got the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch for the first RGMVM game.
