DEATH NOTICES REV. JOHN D. O’HALLORAN died on Friday, July 1, at the age of 82. He was born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn on Sept. 8, 1928, and graduated from Theological College Seminary, Garden City, in June 1962. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, O’Halloran served as the parish historian for four Louisiana parishes and later served as the official state historian of Louisiana. He would go on to serve as historian for the Long Island Communities of Island Park, Oyster Bay and Massapequa. O’Halloran was president of numerous organizations and the founder of the Long Island Chapter of the Anglican Orthodox Fellowship; numerous honorary degrees were also bestowed on him by colleges in Europe and the U.S. In the church, O’Halloran first served as a seminary assistant with Atonement Parish, Brooklyn, before moving on to St. Ann’s Parish in Brooklyn Heights, serving from 1962 through 1965. From there, he served at Holy Cross Parish from 1965 through 1991 before moving on to St. Paul’s Williamsburgh Church, where he would serve through the end of his life. O’Halloran was also a member of various knights orders and social organizations, serving in the United Septs of Clan Fergail, Family Princely lineage, Chief of the Name (Don), Commandant Jacob Herrlinger Memorial Unit. He also served as a chaplain for the Sons of Union Veterans, 69th Regiment Memorial Association and the American Legion James L. Young Post. He was also a member and officer of the Antarctic and Arctic Explorers Associations. O’Halloran is survived by his brother, George. Funeral services were offered at St. Paul’s Church, Williamsburg and Cathedral of the Incarnation Episcopal Church, Garden City, followed by interment at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Hess-Miller Funeral Home, 64-19 Metropolitan Ave., Middle Village. +++ JANET C. KROUSLIS of Ridgewood died on Thursday, June 23, at the age of 71. She was the devoted mother and mother-in-law of Lori and Charlie Weiland, Lisa and Rick Veaz and Vicki and Jim Paper. She was also survived by her beloved granddaughters, Allison and Amy Weiland, as well as her great-granddaughter, Caitlin, and her companion of many years, Harry Monks. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Ridgewood. +++ KATHRYN HEINS of Lynbrook, L.I., died on Monday, June 27, at the age of 102. A native of Ridgewood, she was the wife of the late George and fond aunt of Robert and Richard Sandstedt and numerous grand nieces. A private cremation was held under the direction of Peter J. Geis Funeral Home, 57-34 Catalpa Ave., Ridgewood. +++ ANTHONY “TONY” IMPERATO died on Tuesday, July 5, at the age of 73. The founder of the Imperato Agency in Maspeth, he was the beloved husband of Minna, loving father of Lynne DeMattia, Anthony Imperato and Lisa Murillo and father-in-law of John, Jodi and Fabio. He was also the cherished grandfather of David, Stephen, Carissa and Anthony. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, July 9, at 9:45 a.m. at St. Adalbert Church, Elmhurst, followed by entombment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth. +++ GEETA DHANSUKH PATEL of Santa Cruz, Mumbai, India died on Wednesday, June 29, at the age of 59. She is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
