TRANSIT NEWS and Updates The MTA has scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work. These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, Aug. 24. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs. Check www.mta.info for schedule changes. Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following: Weekend L Trains Suspended In Bklyn. L train service will be suspended between Broadway Junction and Lorimer Street this weekend, from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service between both points. During this service change, L trains will continue to operate in two sections—between Rockaway Parkway and Broadway Junction and between Lorimer Street and Eighth Avenue. Riders can transfer between the shuttle buses and the L train at both Broadway Junction and Lorimer Street (it was noted that, at Broadway Junction, L trains will board on the Jamaica bound J platform). The shuttle buses will stop at locations near the following L train stations: Broadway Junction—on Fulton -SEE TRANSIT ON PG. 76- Street at Van Sinderen Avenue; Bushwick Avenue-Aberdeen Street—on Bushwick Avenue at De- Sales Place (to Broadway Junction) or at Aberdeen Street (to Lorimer Street); Wilson Avenue—on Cooper Street at Wilson Avenue (to Broadway Junction) or on Decatur Street at Wilson Avenue (to Lorimer Street); Halsey Street—on Wyckoff Avenue at Weirfield Street; Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues—on Wyckoff Avenue at Myrtle Avenue; DeKalb Avenue—on Wyckoff Avenue at DeKalb Avenue; Jefferson Street—on Wyckoff Avenue at Starr Street; Morgan Avenue—on Morgan Avenue at Harrison Place (to Broadway Junction) or on Harrison Place at Morgan Avenue (to Lorimer Street); Montrose Avenue—on Bushwick Avenue at Montrose Avenue; Grand Street—on Bushwick Avenue at Grand Street; Graham Avenue—on Metropolitan Avenue at Graham Avenue; and Lorimer Street—on Metropolitan Avenue at Union Avenue. Overnight Switch On E, M Trains Manhattan-bound E trains will run on the F line between 36th Street in Queens and West Fourth Street in Manhattan late nights on Thursday, Aug. 25, Friday, Aug. 26, and Monday, Aug. 29 through Friday, Sept. 2, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.; and this weekend, from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29. Additionally, Manhattan-bound M trains will operate on the F line between 36th Street in Queens and 47th-50th Streets in Manhattan on Monday through Thursday from 10 p.m. until midnight. For service to the Queens Plaza and Court Square-23rd Street stations, take the E or M train to 21st Street-Queensbridge and transfer to a free shuttle bus that will stop at both stations. For service from these stations, take the shuttle bus to 21st Street-Queensbridge for transfers to the E or M train. F Trains Skip Stops In Qns. Today (Thu.) Manhattan-bound 7 trains will skip the Sutphin Boulevard, Van Wyck Boulevard and 75th Avenue stations on Thursday, Aug. 25, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. For service to these stops, take the F train to Union Turnpike or 71st- Continental Avenues, then transfer to a Jamaica-bound F train. For service from these stations, take the F train to Union Turnpike or Parsons Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattanbound F train. N Trains Skips Qns. Stops On Weekdays Manhattan-bound N trains will skip the 30th Avenue, Broadway, 36th Avenue and 39th Avenue stations on Thursday, Aug. 25, Friday, Aug. 26, and Wednesday, Aug. 31, through Friday, Sept. 2, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. During this service change, there will be no Q train service between Ditmars Boulevard and 57th Street-Seventh Avenue. Additionally, N trains will skip the same stops this weekend, from 4 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, until 10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28; Q trains do not run to Queens on weekends. For service to these stations, take the N train to Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to an Astoria-bound N train. For service from these stations, take the N train to Astoria Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound N train. No Weekend G Trains Bet. L.I.C., Brooklyn G train service will be suspended between Court Square and Bedford- Nostrand Avenues this weekend, from 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service. Riders can transfer between the G train and the free shuttle bus at Bedford Nostrand Avenues; G trains will operate from there to Church Avenue. The shuttle buses will stop at locations near the following G train stations: Court Square—at B62 bus stops on Jackson Avenue at 45th Avenue, Thomson Avenue and 23rd Street; 21st Street—on Jackson Avenue at 47th Avenue (to Bedford-Nostrand Avenues) or the B62 bus stop on Jackson Avenue at 21st Street (to Court Square); Greenpoint Avenue—at the B24 bus stop on Manhattan Avenue at Greenpoint Avenue (to Bedford-Nostrand Avenues) or the B43 bus stop on Greenpoint Avenue at Leonard Street (to Court Square); Nassau Avenue—at the B62 bus stop on Manhattan Avenue at Nassau Avenue (to Bedford-Nostrand Avenues) or the B43 bus stop on Bedford Avenue at Manhattan Avenue (to Court Square; Metropolitan Avenue-Lorimer Street—at Q59 bus stops on Union Avenue at Metropolitan Avenue; Broadway—on Union Avenue at Broadway; Flushing Avenue—on Lee Avenue at Flushing Avenue (to Bedford- Nostrand Avenues) or the B44 bus stop on Union Avenue at Gerry Street (to Court Square); Myrtle-Willoughby Avenues— at the B44 bus stop on Nostrand Avenue at Myrtle Avenue (to Bedford- Nostrand Avenues) or on Marcy Avenue at Myrtle Avenue (to Queens Plaza); and Bedford-Nostrand Avenues—at the B38 bus stop on Lafayette Avenue at Nostrand Avenue. Month Of Weekend Woes On LIRR Lines A track modernization project on the Long Island Rail Road’s Main Line in Mineola will result in some cancellations and service adjustments on the Huntington-Port Jefferson, Oyster Bay, Ronkonkoma, Far Rockaway and Babylon branches this weekend, it was announced. LIRR personnel will be installing new rail and making repairs at a crossing in Mineola on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 27-28. This will force one of the two Main Line tracks to be taken out of service. Track work will begin at 12:39 a.m. Saturday and conclude at 10 a.m. Sunday.
