DEATH NOTICES

GEORGE A. REINHOLZ died on Wednesday evening, August 17, at Manor Care, Montgomery, Pa. at the age of 88. A former resident of Ridgewood, he resided in Hatfield, Pa. for three years. He was a decorated veteran of World War II who served in the Army. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Irene A. Reinholz (nee Mehling), loving daughter Laura Ragus and son-in-law Joseph of Hatfield, Pa., loving son Thomas G. Reinholz and daughter-in-law Teri of Milford, Conn. He was also a devoted grandfather to seven grandchildren and a great-grandfather to seven greatgrandchildren. Reinholz was also a volunteer in the Ridgewood Volunteer Ambulance Corps for several years. A wake was held on Sunday, August 21, at Shelly-Dinan Funeral Home, Lansdale, Pa. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Monday, August 22, at St. Maria Goretti R.C. Church, Hatfield, Pa., followed by interment with military honors at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, Pa. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.dinanfh.com. OTTO STEINBRENNER of Peachtree City, Ga., formerly of Ridgewood, died on Sunday, August 21, at the age of 88. He was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Army during World War II in France, Belgium and Germany. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Begg Steinbrenner, and second wife, Elizabeth Garbarino Steinbrenner, and brothers Walter and Red Steinbrenner. He is survived by his son, Wayne Steinbrenner, and his wife, Jayne, of Peachtree City; granddaughters Rachel and Ava Steinbrenner; niece Debra Dunn and husband Pat of St. Augustine, Fla., and their children Jennifer and Shawn Dunn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered today, Thursday, August 25, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City, by Rev. John Murphy. A prayer service was held on Wednesday, August 24, at Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City.

+++ JOSEFA STAMPFEL of Ridgewood died on Saturday, August 20, at the age of 94. A native of Pollandel, Gottschee, Austria, she was the wife of the late Joseph and devoted mother of Marianne Kikel and Hermann Stampfel. She is also survived by two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, August 27, at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at Cypress Hills Cemetery, under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood. KATHARINA TILLER (nee METZEL) of Glendale died on Friday, August 19, at the age of 85. A native of Austria, she was the wife of the late William Tiller and devoted mother of William J. Tiller and the late Shirley Tiller. She is also survived by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were offered at George Werst Funeral Home, A Dignity Provider, 71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale, followed by interment at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village.

+++ VINCENT CIPRIANO died on Thursday, August 11, at the age of 52. He was the beloved brother of Salvatore Cipriano, brother-in-law of Maryann and cherished uncle of Anthony, Christina, Salvatore and Rosemary. Services were offered at Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, on Sunday, August 14. A private cremation was later held at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village. MICHELINA CANGIANO died on Monday, August 15, at the age of 62. She was the beloved sister of Theresa Jampol, sister-in-law of Philip, cherished aunt of Nicole and Rob, Gabrielle and Brian, Philip and Kelly, great-aunt of Grace, Rose and Eleanor and loving niece of Mary Ann Famiglietti. A private cremation as held on Wednesday, August 17, at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village. A Memorial Mass was offered on Saturday, August 20, at St. Nicholas Church, followed by interment of cremated remains at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Flushing, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

+++ GLADYS L. LEE died on Tuesday, August 16, at the age of 71. She was the wife of the late Raymond C. Lee, loving mother of Raymond, Kim, Christopher, Cherri and Matthew, mother-in-law of Karen, Liliana and David, cherished grandmother of Ryan, Jared, Noel, Garid, Gavin, Garin, Tara and Alyssa and dear sister of Robert Brust. Religious services were offered at Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, on Friday, August 19, followed by private cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village. LUCILLE R. ALBANESE of Brooklyn died on Friday, August 19, at the age of 91. A native of Brooklyn, she was the wife of the late Julius and devoted mother of Diana and William Albanese. She is also survived by one grandchild. Services were offered at Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, by Rev. Thomas Goodhart, followed by interment at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx.

+++ THERESA J. TAYLOR of Glendale died on Friday, August 19, at the age of 84. A native of Chicago, she was the wife of the late Eugene John Taylor and devoted mother of John Taylor. She is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Matthias Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, L.I., under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood.
