DEATH NOTICES WOLODYMIR (WALTER) MUDRYK of Glendale died on Sunday, October 16, at the age of 86. A native of the Ukraine, he was the beloved husband of Christine and devoted father of Helen Schneider, Kathy Mudryk and Walter Mudryk. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Pancras Church, Glendale, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood. JOSEPH STANLEY RICE of Lighthouse Point, Fla. passed away on Saturday, October 15, at his home at the age of 79. Joseph was born in Brooklyn on June 1, 1932 to Henry and Eurie Rice. He was a proud Korean War veteran with the Third Infantry Cottonbailers who remained active in veteran organizations throughout his life. He retired to Florida and has been a long-time resident of Lighthouse Point. He was predeceased by his wife, Doris, and siblings George Rice, Gordon Rice, Robert Rice, Marion Winsor and Audrey Bucalo. He is survived by his son Joseph, daughterin law Dorothy, granddaughters Christina and Jennifer, siblings Beulah Hafner, Betty Ryan, Violet Woods and Glenn Rice, 18 nephews, 17 nieces and over 60 grand-nieces and nephews. Awake was held on Monday, October 17, at Glick Family Funeral Home, 3600 North Federal Hwy., Boca Raton, Fla., and another wake will be held tomorrow, Friday, October 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Michaels Funeral Home, 79-22 Metropolitan Ave., Middle Village. Services will be offered at Michaels Funeral Home on Saturday, October 22, at 10 a.m., followed by interment with military honors at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village. Glick Family Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. IRENE (RENEE) MARX of Glendale died on Saturday, October 15. She was the wife of the late Thomas, loving mother of Patricia Donovan, Deborah Hoefferle, Thomas Marx and Michael Marx, cherished grandmother of Brian, Lauren, Cheryl, Tommy, Jacqueline, Claudia, Amanda and Ashley and dear mother-in-law of Wayne, Fred, Sharon and Carol. Irene was born in Ridgewood on January 9, 1930 and retired to Prattsville, N.Y. before returning to Glendale in 2003. A wake was held on Tuesday, October 18, at Michaels Funeral Home, 79-22 Metropolitan Ave., Middle Village.
