HALLWAY OF BLOOD

Man Cuts Foe’s Throat In Fight
by Robert Pozarycki

What started as an apparent dispute between two men inside a Ridgewood, Brooklyn apartment house last Saturday, Oct. 29, came to a bloody end when one of the combatants fatally slit the other’s throat, police said.

Law enforcement sources identified the victim as 22-year-old William Rocano of DeKalb Avenue.

Police said that the alleged murderer, whose identity was not disclosed, was arrested shortly after Rocano’s body was discovered by officers assigned to the 83rd Precinct.

Reportedly, the bloodshed occurred sometime before 3:05 p.m. on the third-floor of a home on Linden Street near Myrtle Avenue.

According to information obtained by police, Rocano and the alleged murderer—who were known to each other—became embroiled in a dispute for unknown reasons.

The exchange reportedly turned violent when the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and slashed Rocano’s neck.

Members of the 83rd Precinct responded to the scene along with EMS units after receiving a 911 call regarding a man stabbed.

Upon their arrival, they reportedly found the victim lying unconscious in a third-floor hallway. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Following a subsequent investigation, the suspected murder was taken into custody near the crime scene, law enforcement sources said.

An investigation is ongoing.
