Training Vehicle Is FDNY’s Newest Wheels

The Fire Department received the keys to a brand new mobile training vehicle during a press conference held by Queens Borough President Helen Marshall last Thursday, Oct. 27, at Queens Borough Hall in Kew Gardens. As noted, Marshall provided $273,000 in funding for the purchase of the vehicle, which will help train firefighters on various techniques including forcible entry, operation of breathing masks in smoke-fileld rooms and responding to “mayday” transmissions. FDNY Chief of Department Edward Kilduff accepted the vehicle on behalf of the agency. Firefighters are shown in this photo exiting through a window on the roof of the training vehicle.
