DEATH NOTICES

GERTRUDE ANN MOONEY (nee HESS), former owner of Hess-Miller Funeral Home in Middle Village, died on Sunday, November 6, in Brooksville, Fla. She was predeceased by her loving husband Harold, daughter Patricia Ann Nolan and son Michael Joseph. She is survived by loving daughters Linda Conlisk, Gertrude Reilly and Kathleen LaSala, sons-in-law Thomas, Richard and Joseph, daughter-in-law Diane, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was a long-standing member and past president of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Rosary Altar Society. Services were offered under the direction of Brewer and Son Funeral Home, Spring Hill, Fla.

+++ ELIZABETH E. MARIUS died on Sunday, November 6. She was the cherished aunt of John and Anne Hein, Mary Ellen and Steve Hepburn, Bob Hein, Kathy and Paul Carlozzo, Judy and Paul Veliyathil, Patricia Stafford and Ellen Stafford and devoted sister of Ruth. She was also the beloved great aunt of 12 nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Wednesday, November 9, at Maria Regina R.C. Church, Seaford, L.I., followed by interment at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, L.I., under the direction of William E. Law Funeral Home, 1 Jerusalem Ave., Massapequa, L.I.

+++ ANTHONY J. TERLIZZI of Freehold, N.J., died on Wednesday, November 2, at the age of 81. He was the beloved wife of Kathleen E. Lonergan and is survived by 30 nieces and nephews, 29 great nieces and nephews and four great-great nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of Hope Church, Middle Village, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Village Chapels, 67-67 Eliot Ave., Middle Village. WOLFGANG ENKE died on Friday, November 4, at the age of 83. A native of Germany, he was the beloved husband of Inge (nee Bendixen), devoted father of Mark and Ralf Enke and dear brother of Uwe Enke. He is also survived by four grandchildren. Services were offered at George Werst Funeral Home, A Dignity Provider, 71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale, followed by private cremation.

+++ GERONIMO J. RIVERA died on Friday, November 4, at the age of 65. He was the beloved husband of Norma Iris Rivera, loving father of Chastity Irizarry, Malanie Rivera, Jerilyn Bono, Jeremiah Rivera, Krislyn Rivera and Jacob Rivera, cherished grandfather “Ampa” of Rebekah, Jeremiah, Emily, Jared, Rachel, Jeremy and Baby Bono and dear brother of Georgina Vasquez, Sor Migdalia Flores and the late Albert Rivera. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Services were offered on Monday, November 7, and Tuesday, November 8, at Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, L.I. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rivera’s memory to the Transplant Recipients International Organization (TRIO), 2100 M Street NW, #170-353, Washington, D.C. 20037. ANTON G. ECK I of Glendale died on Saturday, November 5, at the age of 86. A native of New York, he was the beloved husband of Julie A. Mangino and devoted father of Carol Eck Driscoll. He is also survived by two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Sacred Heart Church, Glendale, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, L.I., under the direction of George Werst Funeral Home, A Dignity Provider, 71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale.

+++ HORACIO S. DEGATICA of New York died on Sunday, October 30, at the age of 89. A native of Argentina, he was the beloved husband of Alicia and devoted father of Lydia Lacy and Maria Oliveris. Services were offered at Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, followed by cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village.

+++ CAROL ANN BLINN (nee BULLING) of Ridgewood died on Friday, November 4, at the age of 69. A native of Brooklyn, she was the beloved partner of William DeLawder and devoted mother of Doreen and Michael Izzo. She is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were offered at Hess-Miller Funeral Home, 64-19 Metropolitan Ave., Middle Village, followed by cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village.
