DEATH NOTICES

EDWARD L. ANGWIN of Harrington, Del., formerly of Glendale and Ridgewood, died on Thursday, March 1, at the age of 94. Angwin served his country proudly in the U.S. Army’s 29th Division during World War II and participated in the Invasion of Normandy. He was very patriotic and belonged to the American Legion CKRT Post #7 in Harrington.

Angwin was born and resided in Glendale and Ridgewood until he moved to Dover, Del., 30 years ago. For the past 11 years, he resided in Harrington.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Clara Angwin; his wife, EvelynAngwin; brothers Harry and Walter Angwin and grandson Christopher Lee Richardson. He is Edward, John, David, Jerome, Katherine and Bernadette Richardson, their spouses, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Bonnie Betts and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Monday, March 5, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Harrington, followed by interment at Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro, under the direction of Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South Dupont Hwy., Harrington.

FLORENCE A. HERNAN of Ridgewood died on Thursday, March 1, at the age of 88. She was the beloved aunt of Kathy Castaldo, Diane Hernan, Linda Hearns, Debra Hernan, Karen Decker, Jimmy Hernan and John Hernan. She is also survived by 11 grand nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Pancras Church, Glendale, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, under the direction of Schwille Funeral Home, 66-32 Myrtle Ave., Glendale.

GERALDINE CASELLA died on Saturday, March 3, at the age of 74. She was the wife of the lateAugust J. Casella, loving mother of Michael Casella, Steven Casella and Gina Dropp, mother-in-law of Ann, Linda and Chris, cherished grandmother of Michael, Matthew, Jillian, Alyssa, Steven, Mark, Justin and Christian and dear sister of Lorraine O’Brien and the late Nicholas Gallo, Anthony Gallo and Arlene Weigel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered today, Thursday, March 8, at 9:45 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Woodside, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

VINCENTIA KERAS died on Thursday, March 1, at the age of 71. She was the beloved wife of Michael S. Keras, loving mother of Susan M. Kennedy, Melissa Keras Donaghy and the late Gregory Keras, motherin law of Richard, Joseph and Shirley, cherished grandmother of Gregory Michael, Kimberly, Danny, Lauren, Matthew, Rebecca, Zoey Arielle and the late Desiree, greatgrandmother of Daniel Michael and dear sister of Margaret Messineo. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Monday, March 5, at Our Lady of Hope Church, Middle Village, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

ANNE DAVIS died on Wednesday, February 29, at the age of 93. She was the wife of the late James and loving sister of Catherine Pilszynski. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Saturday, March 3, at Ascension Church, Elmhurst, followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, L.I., under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

STEPHANIE A. POPP of Ridgewood died on Thursday, March 1, at the age of 73. A native of the Bronx, she was the beloved wife of John H., devoted mother of Debra and Jose Mercado and Barbara and Jose Ferrera, dear sister of Eleanor Rizzo and Rosemarie Tomasini, fond grandmother of Michael, Robert, Jose, Kenny, Anthony, Ashley, Joselito, Marc and Kaitlin and loving greatgrandmother of Jerrald. Services were offered at Trinity Reformed Church, Ridgewood, by Rev. Thomas Goodhart, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, L.I., under the direction of Peter J. Geis Funeral Home, 57-34 Catalpa Ave., Ridgewood.

HENRY BUONOCORE died on Sunday, February 26, at the age of 88. He was the dear brother of Lucy Adragna, Josephine Borsellino and Rose Giamamarino. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Services were offered at Hess-Miller Funeral Home, 64-19 Metropolitan Ave., Middle Village, followed by interment at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village.

RONALD WILLIAM PIMM of Brooklyn died onWednesday, February 29, at the age of 82. A native of the Bronx, he was the husband of the late Rita and devoted father of Elaine Brust, Ronald Pimm Jr., Kathleen Cordero, Barbara Schedt and Brian Pimm. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services were offered at Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, followed by cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village.

HANS MATZELLE of Ridgewood died on Wednesday, February 29, at the age of 82. Anative of Mittenwald, Gottschee, Yugoslavia, he was the beloved husband of Elinor, devoted father of Arlene Trusi, the late Errol Matzelle and Rena and dear brother of Erna Stimitz, Richard and Rose Matzelle and Albina Matzelle. He is also survived by two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood.

HERMINIA BONILLA of Ridgewood died on Tuesday, February 28, at the age of 83. A native of Isabella, Puerto Rico, she was the wife of the late Luis and devoted mother of Julio Bonilla, Miguel Bonilla, Ernesto Bonilla, Carmen Pineiro and Margaret Bonilla. She is also survived by 40 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-greatgrandchildren. Services were offered atMorton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, followed by interment at Cypress Hills Cemetery.

MARGARETE LIEBMANN of Northhampton, Pa., died on Tuesday, February 28, at the age of 87. A native of Kisker, Yugoslavia, she was the wife of the late Willi, devoted mother of Renate Brosky and Stephen Liebmann and fond grandmother of Lillie Brosky. HILDEGARD EPPICH of Ridgewood died on Wednesday, February 29, at the age of 88. Anative of Reintal, Gottschee, Yugoslavia, she was the wife of the late Johann, devoted mother of Ingrid Shifflet and Alfred Eppich and dear sister of Emma Muenze. She is also survived by two grandchildren. JOSEF LOESCHINGER of Glendale died on Tuesday, February 28, at the age of 88. He was the beloved husband of Elfriede, loving father of Brigitte, Joseph and Cathy, dear father in-law of Arnold, Ingrid, Raymond and Doug, proud grandfather of Ken, Annemarie, Katharine, Erik, Monika, Kristina and Philip and great-grandfather of Melissa and John. He was a long-time member of the Danube Swabian Aid and Youth Society and the Kolping Society of Brooklyn.
