DEATH NOTICES

WINKLHOFERWINKLHOFERHENRY WINKLHOFER of Cairo, N.Y. died on Wednesday, March 21, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla., at the age of 81. Born on June 30, 1930 in Queens, he was the son of the late Henry and Johanna KresseWinklhofer.

Henry was predeceased by his loving wife Josephine Betty Winklhofer of 54 years and sister Betty Rupp.

Henry is survived by daughters Karen Winklhofer Perkins and Pamela O’Reilly, grandchildren Christine and Henry O’Reilly and Steven Perkins, sister Joann Mullaney and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, his fiancée Joan Higgins and many friends both new and longtime and also his beloved cats, Mickey and Vegas. He will be missed by all.

A former Ridgewood resident, he retired from Forster Bros Auto Body Shop in Flushing. Over the years Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bee keeping and wine making. He was a member of The Cairo Golden Ages, Greenville Golden Years Club, Catskill Elks, The Catskill Mountain Bee Keepers Club and retired member of Original Enzian Schuplatter group.

Awake will be held today, Thursday, March 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow, Friday, Mar. 30, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross Street, Cairo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 35 Church Street, Cairo, celebrated by Rev. Fr. J. Nunan, pastor. Interment will follow in the family plot of The Cairo Cemetery.

KAYLONI H. PINCKNEY of Albrightsville, Pa., died on Friday, March 16, at the age of two. Anative of Albrightsville, Pa., she was the loving daughter of Keith M. Pinckney and Kristel H. Desmedt, dear sister of Keiajah Harrigan of Queens and Kylah A. Pinckney of Albrightsville, Pa., devoted granddaughter of Letitia Pinckney of Queens and Peter M. and Margaret Desmedt of Albrightsville and fond niece of Antoinette Pinckney and Kenya Jenkins of Queens. A Memorial Mass will be offered today, Thursday, March 29, at 10:15 a.m. at St. Matthias Church, Ridgewood, under the direction of Peter J. Geis Funeral Home, 57-34 Catalpa Ave., Ridgewood.

ANNA BLANK of Glendale died on Tuesday, March 27, at the age of 90. She was the wife of the late Henry, devoted mother of Linda, Marlene LoCicero and Diane Poupis and dear grandmother of John Poupis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, March 31, at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Glendale, followed by interment at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Glendale Walsh-LaBella and Son Funeral Home, 70-17 Cooper Ave., Glendale.

DOROTHY C. BOLAND died on Tuesday, March 20, at the age of 81. She was the beloved wife of Nathan Boland, loving mother of Bruce Boland and Carol Bidne, mother-inlaw of Patricia and James, cherished grandmother of Jason, Heather, Nicole and Steven, great-grandmother of Jack and Andrew and dear sister of Aurelia Janosek and Livia Meyer. Services were offered on Thursday, March 22, at Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed by interment at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, L.I.

PETER GIFFONE died on Thursday, March 22, at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of Caroline Giffone, loving father of Robert Giffone and Diane Stoehrer, father-inlaw of Kathy and Richard, cherished grandfather of Tobi and Mike, Bobby and Dina and Richie and Nicky and great-grandfather of Nicole, Alena, Ivy, Madison, Claudia, Anastasia, Alexis and Kadence. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Monday, March 26, at St. Stanislaus Church, Maspeth, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Maspeth, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

ANNA DOWLING died on Saturday, March 24, at the age of 85. She was the wife of the late William Dowling, loving mother of William E. Dowling and Maryann Schembri, mother-in-law of Raymond and dear sister of Elizabeth Borgs. She was also a cherished aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Wednesday, March 28, at St. Mary’s Church, Woodside, followed by interment at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, L.I., under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

CAROLE DOMBROWSKI of Maspeth died on Sunday, March 25, at the age of 67. A native of Maspeth, she was the wife of the late Hans and devoted mother of John and Michael. She is also survived by grandchildren Courtney and Tyler and great-grandchildren Page and Kurt. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Matthias Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery, East Elmhurst, under the direction of Peter J. Geis Funeral Home, 57-34 Catalpa Ave., Ridgewood.

MARTIN M. METZDORFF died on Friday, March 23, at the age of 75. A U.S. Army veteran, he was the beloved husband of Marilyn (nee White), devoted father of Janet Furlong, Peter, Gary and Paul and dear brother of Dolores DuBois. He is also survived by five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Hess- Miller Funeral Home, 64-19 Metropolitan Ave., Middle Village.

FRIEDRICH RELF of Mamaroneck, N.Y. died on Friday, March 23, at the age of 86. A native of Eferding, Austria, he was the beloved husband of Eva, devoted father of Frederick Relf and Robert Relf and dear brother of Leopoldine Dubosas. He is also survived by five grandchildren. ROBERT T. PASQUA of Greentown, Pa. died on Friday, March 23, at the age of 62. A native of Queens, he was the beloved husband of Marta and devoted father of J.R. Vera and Natalie Villodas. He is also survived by five grandchildren. MARIJA NIMANI of Ridgewood died on Monday, March 19, at the age of 87. A native of Yugoslavia, she was the wife of the late Haxhi and devoted mother of Ajnton Erdei. She is also survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. MARIA GRAU of Ridgewood died on Tuesday, March 20, at the age of 97. A native of Hrastje, Slovenia, she was the wife of the late Richard, devoted mother of Erika and the late Richard and loving aunt of Lydia, Franc, Josef, Stefka, Marjanca, Richard and Heinrich in Europe.
