Meat Market’s Milestone In Midville

Mario’s Meats and Gourmet Deli of Middle Village celebrated its 30th anniversary with a party in front of its Metropolitan Avenue shop last Saturday, June 30. The festivities included music and raffles for prizes such as a barbecue grill and gift certificates. Proceeds raised from the sale of raffle tickets were donated to the American Cancer Society in memory of late Mario DiGangi, who opened the meat store in 1982 and later expanded it to carry a variety of cold cuts, imported products and other items. Shown standing in front of the store are owner Joseph DiGangi (second from right) and (from left to right) Marie DiGangi, Sabrina Scarpelli, Allessio Scarpelli and Nicole DiGangi.
