From Country To Polka At Free Ridgewood Concerts
Series Kicks Off At Bank On July 18
Ridgewood Savings Bank will be hosting a series of free summer concerts at its main office in Ridgewood over four Wednesday nights beginning on July 18. Each of the performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the main office, located at 71- 02 Forest Ave. A limited number of chairs will be provided; guests are asked to bring their own folding chair if no seats are available. The concert series kicks off next Wednesday, July 18, with the country and western sounds provided by the group SixGun. The following week, July 25, guests will enjoy classic standards performed by the Something Special Big Band. On Aug. 1, The GB’s will be performing toe-tapping polka music and on Aug. 15, guests will enjoy the doowop sounds of The Clusters. Good organizing is the key to run such programs successfully. Sometimes we just put too much emotion in the process. That is one of the biggest obstacles.
