Elmhurst Hospital Unveils Chest Pain Unit
Elmhurst Hospital Center cut the ribbon on their new Chest Pain Unit with a ceremony on Monday, July 23, attended by City Council Member Daniel Dromm and other dignitaries. As noted, the $1 million, 13-bed facility within the hospital’s Emergency Department observes and evaluates incoming patients with chest pains and refers them for treatment at the hospital or, when appropriate, community-based services. Dromm and other members of the City Council’s Queens delegation provided funding to Elmhurst Hospital to create the unit. Among those in attendance for the ribbon cutting were a contigent of medical professionals from the Fujian province in China.
