Maspeth Salutes Heroes’ Sacrifice

A firefighter salutes a monument dedicated to the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks during a ceremony at Maspeth Memorial Park last Saturday, Sept. 6. Members of nearby Squad Co. 288/Haz-Mat 1—which lost the most firefighters of any combined FDNY firehouse on 9/11—helped pay tribute to their fallen colleagues and the more than 2,700 people who died at the World Trade Center on that fateful day 13 years ago today.
