MARIA KUMP (nee LOSER) of Gottschee died on Friday, November 6, at the age of 90. She was the loving wife of the late Emil Kump and dear grandmother of the late Peter Radske. Surrounded by her loving family, Maria died peacefully after a brief illness. She is survived by her daughter, Gerda Radske and two sons, Erwin and Edward. She will be truly missed by her son-inlaw, William, and daughters-in-law, Maggie and Rodika. She was the cherished grandmother of Diana and Goran Cvijetinovic, Jazmine and Justin Tompkins, Adrianna and Jarad Fatigate and Alexander Kump. She proudly boasted of her three greatgrandchildren Sophia, Lola and Pete. She is also survived by her loving sister Anna Koenig and nephew Joseph. A devout Catholic and sincere believer in the power of the Rosary, Maria’s Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Matthias Church in Ridgewood on November 9 where she was a parishioner for over 55 years. Services were respectfully arranged by Leo F. Kearns 61-40 Woodhaven Blvd. in Rego Park and interment at All Faiths Cemetery in Glendale.

CATHERINE R. MORSA died on Sunday, November 15, at the age of 87. She was the wife of the late Vincent Morsa and loving mother of Frank Roma and the late Andrew Morsa. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Wednesday, November 18, at Holy Trinity Church, Whitestone, followed by entombment at St. John Cemetery Resurrection Mausoleum, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

GIOVANNI M. VOLPE died on Friday, November 13, at the age of 83. He was the beloved husband of Marie Volpe, loving father of Angela Romano and Domenica Lisi, stepfather of Doretta Risolo and Vincent D’Agostino and dear brother of Sofia Dima, Anna Bushman and the late Michael A. Volpe. He was also a cherished grandfather and is survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, November 19, at Transfiguration Church, Maspeth, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

JOHN FOX died on Thursday, November 12, at the age of 83. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl Fox; loving father of Jeanie Fox and Henry Schiller, Sandra and Robert Cocchi, Michael Fox, and John Jr. and Denise Fox; cherished grandfather of Samantha, Randy, Olivia, Allan, Harry, Rachel and Frederic and dear brother of Helen, Kit, Patricia and the late Shirley, Robert and Mae. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Services were offered on Monday, November 16, at Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed by interment at Linden Hill Cemetery, Ridgewood.

GERARD MARTIN of Ridgewood died on Sunday, November 22, at the age of 72. A native of Brooklyn, he was the dear brother of Raymond Martin, Richard Martin and Freddy Martin. Services were offered at Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, followed by cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village.

URSULA GLISZCZYNSKI died on Friday, November 20, at the age of 90. She was the wife of the late Mike Gliszczynski, loving mother of Rosemarie, Longin, Alina, Ted, Jan, Wanda and the late Zenon and cherished grandmother of Roy, Toby, Jason, Zenon, Katrina, Krista, Torsten, Erik, Summer, Dustin and Dylan. She was also a dear greatgrandmother and great-great-grandmother. Services were offered on Tuesday, November 24, at Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside.

IRENE ZEBZDA died on Friday, November 20, at the age of 86. She was the wife of the late Edward Zebzda, loving mother of Ed Zebzda and Diane Coe, mother-in-law of Edward Coe, cherished grandmother of Frank, Meghan and Marty and great-grandmother of Dalilah, Emmy and Henry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, November 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Adalbert’s Church, Elmhurst, followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

BARBARA M. SIMON died on Wednesday, November 18, at the age of 88. She was the wife of the late Jack H. Simon, loving mother of Joanne Simon and Paul F. Simon, cherished adopted grandmother of Jamie, Jackie and Carolynne and sister of the late Ann Rudmann. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Monday, November 23, at St. Adalbert’s Church, Elmhurst, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

DAVID F. STROBLE of Glendale died on Wednesday, November 18, at the age of 63. A native of Ridgewood, he was the devoted father of Rose Mohyla, David Stroble, Steven Stroble and Anthony Stroble. He is also survived by three grandchildren. Services will be offered on Saturday, December 5, at 11 a.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Maspeth, where he was interred under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/ Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood.

EMILIEA ROTARU of Sunnyside died on Thursday, November 12, at the age of 85. A native of Pietrosani, Romania, she was the wife of the late Ioan and devoted mother of Mike Rotary.
